Semarang (24/10), There are two research methods commonly used by researchers in research activities, namely quantitative methods and qualitative methods. Of these two research methods, quantitative methods are more often used for research than qualitative methods, but quantitative methods have limitations in reaching the problems in research. With these limitations, an alternative method is needed, namely a quantitative method where this method emphasizes the observation of phenomena and examines the substance of the meaning of a phenomenon. The analysis and sharpness of research using qualitative methods is strongly influenced by the strength of words and sentences used and is more focused on human elements, objects, and institutions, as well as the relationship or interaction between these elements, in an effort to understand an event, behavior, or phenomenon.
For this reason, Doctor of Public Health Faculty Public Health Universitas Diponegoro held this Series 3 Education Seminar with the theme “Qualitative Inquary in Public Health” by presenting speakers who are experts in the field of qualitative research, namely Prof. dr. Ari N. Probandari, M.PH., Ph.D. from Sebelas Maret University, Surakarta. This educational seminar activity is carried out online via zoom and youtube FKM Undip Official at the link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NUQGyQo1abw&t=846s&ab_channel=FKMUndipOfficial
In his opening remarks at the Education Seminar, Dr. dr. Bagoes Widjanarko, M.PH. as the Head of Doctoral Study Program said that this activity was very beneficial and could increase students’ knowledge and could even use it as a reference in writing and compiling a dissertation.
Similar activities will continue to be held by the Doctor of Public Health Faculty Public Health Universitas Diponegoro in order to always improve students’ skills and knowledge so that they can support their studies and graduate on time.
