Semarang (04/03), Qualitative research method is one of the methods commonly used by researchers for research activities, in addition to quantitative methods. This qualitative method is an alternative method to quantitative method, which emphasizes more on the observation of phenomena and investigates the substance and meaning of a phenomenon. Analysis and sharpness of research using qualitative methods are greatly influenced by the strength of the words and sentences used and are more focused on human elements, objects, and institutions, as well as the relationships or interactions among these elements, in an effort to understand an event, behavior, or phenomenon.
With the increasing interest in this qualitative method, the Promotion of Health and Behavioral Sciences Department (PKIP) of the Faculty of Public Health, Diponegoro University (FKM UNDIP) held the 2023 Visiting Professor activity on Health Promotion with the theme of Qualitative Data Analysis in Health Research by inviting an expert speaker in qualitative research, Prof. Dr. Ari N. Probandari, M.PH., Ph.D. from Sebelas Maret University in Surakarta. This educational seminar activity was conducted online via Zoom and the FKM UNDIP Official YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vklhquho3mI&t=20s&ab_channel=FKMUndipOfficial.
The event was attended by undergraduate and postgraduate students of FKM UNDIP. Although the event was specifically intended for undergraduate students, many enthusiastic postgraduate students and alumni from the Health Promotion program of FKM UNDIP also participated in this activity, as it could help them further their research for their dissertations.
